Nate Olson comes from a family of musicians. Originally from Bargersville, Indiana, Nate played several instruments as a child before finally reaching the double bass as his primary instrument. His primary teachers include Jack Budrow, Robert Goodlett, Lawrence Hurst, Peter Lloyd, and Kurt Muroki. Nate has performed with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, the Kansas City Symphony, the Omaha Symphony, the Oregon Symphony, and the Santa Barbara Symphony. He has participated in the Aspen Summer Music Festival, the Brevard Music Center Summer Festival, the Interlochen Arts Camp, and the Lakes Area Music Festival. Mr. Olson graduated from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music with a Bachelor of Music and a Performer’s Diploma in Orchestral Studies. He later went on to graduate as a Master of Music from the Colburn Conservatory of Music. Nate is currently the Principal Bass of the Omaha Symphony.
